Autodesk Building Systems helps Reinbold Engineering Group improve productivity and client relations
Doug Reinbold is the founder of Reinbold Engineering Group (REG), a mechanical consulting engineering firm based in Calgary, Alberta.“We’re a group of roughly twenty mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters,” says Reinbold.“Our primary focus is state-of-the-art heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. But, we also design plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and sprinkler systems for a variety of markets.”

To help deliver a superior finished product on time and on budget, REG standardized on Autodesk Building Systems 2005, an AutoCAD®- based mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design and construction documentation software application. The firm has already completed five major projects with the new software and is in progress on another five. On all the projects, REG has seen impressive gains in productivity, accuracy, and coordination. As a result, Building Systems has become an important part of the firm’s long-term, strategic growth plan.

Hillier Architecture uses Revit Building to help meet its goals
Hillier Architecture aims high. And then delivers. In 2004 alone, the New Jersey–based firm garnered 13 awards, including the New Jersey AIA’s highest form of recognition, the Honor Award. One of the firm’s guiding principles—and a key to its success—is the belief that each project must uniquely express the client’s dream. In pursuit of that goal, Hillier architects and designers bring industry-leading expertise in architecture, landscape architecture, historic preservation, and interior, urban, and graphic design to every project.

In its 39-year history, the firm has attracted some of the leading names in industry, real estate, education, health care, and government, including the Ritz Carlton, Princeton University, and Motorola. Today, in response to fierce industry competition and rapid technological change, Hillier has renewed its focus on several crucial success factors: improving the win rate for new business, increasing profit margins, and building strong, long-lasting client relationships. To help meet those goals, Hillier uses Autodesk Revit Building.
