Ideate's Top Features of ADT 2007, Revit 9, and Building Systems 2007

Top 3 Autodesk Building Systems 2007 Features
1. AUTOCAD 2D SYMBOL CONVERSION TO ABS CONTENT
Migrating AutoCAD symbols has never been easier; reducing redrawing tasks and content development time.

2. SIMPLIFIED CONTENT BUILDER
The ABS Content Builder has been enhanced to support simpler primitives and ease the addition of part information into part catalogues.

3. ANNOTATION CAPABILITIES IN CONTENT BUILDER
You can create a schematic block and/or annotation that scales with the changing size of the part.

Top 3 Architectural Desktop 2007 Features
1. STAIR FROM LINE WORK
You can now generate a custom stair from 2D line work in Architectural Desktop 2007. It is now possible to model irregularly shaped stairs and treads, specify multiple flights at varying angles, add body modifiers and interference conditions just like you would to walls and slabs. You can also customize railings and assign unique profiles for first,
last and other fixed posts.

2. MULTI-COMPONENT SLABS
Consistent with walls, you can now define slabs and roof slabs with multiple components. The slab/roof slab objects now support body modifiers and interference conditions consistent with walls. Interference conditions can also interact with objects across xrefs.

3. MAINTAIN LAYER, COLOR, LINETYPE PROPERTIES WHEN GENERATING
SECTIONS AND ELEVATIONS
Architectural Desktop 2007 provides the ability to “Maintain layer, color, linetype properties from the Display Set used during generation.” There is an option provided on the Design Rules tab of the 2D Section/Elevation Style Properties to enable this functionality.

Top 3 Revit 9 Features
1. NEW ROOM OBJECT
Rooms are a new Revit object. They are independent of Room tags. Room parameters can also now be tagged in section views.

2. DIMENSIONING OF NON ORTHOGONAL INTERSECTING WALLS
When placing a dimension, use tab references to see and use these new wall layer intersection references.

3. KEYNOTING
New parameter is created for all model elements and detail components and a new parameter for materials. The keynotes are kept in tab-delimited .txt file. Keynote legends are a new type of schedule that display key values and keynote text.
