Meet Glen Walson, PE, LEED AP – Ideate Engineering Application Specialist
Glen is a licensed mechanical engineer and has been working in the consulting engineering industry for the past 13 years. After obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Morrisville State College in New York, Glen has worked in the HVAC field for a number of A&E and engineering firms, providing engineering design and drafting on a wide variety of projects which include state detention facilities, industrial and pharmaceutical facilities, office buildings, schools and airports. Glen is a LEED accredited professional and a member of the Golden Gate Chapter of ASHRAE. Glen will be working in the AEC department providing support for Autodesk building Systems and Revit Systems.

BSD Voucher Program Renamed and Expanded
To more clearly indicate the types of service for which the BSD Training Vouchers can be used, we have renamed the programs “Engineering Implementation Voucher Promotion” and “Autodesk® Revit® Building Implementation Voucher Promotion.”

Implementation services opens up the offer to include project-based consulting and/or training in a consulting environment as well as face-to-face classroom training. Renaming the vouchers helps clarify the usage of this program and will help promote project-based implementation and training.

Four New Autodesk Revit Products Started Shipping August 29
Autodesk is pleased to announce that we will release four new Autodesk® Revit® software products on August 29:

• Autodesk® Revit® Building 9.1
• Autodesk® AutoCAD® Revit® Series—Building 9.1
• Autodesk® Revit® Structure 4
• Autodesk® AutoCAD® Revit® Series—Structure 4

These four products will be available in commercial versions. Additionally, Autodesk® AutoCAD® Revit® Series—Structure 4 software will be available in education and student versions.

The Revit Building 9.1 products deliver the best possible information for decision making by increasing support for interoperability and enhancing coordination and quality, while optimizing workflow across the Autodesk Revit product suite.

Revit Structure 4 contains many new modeling features, pre-cast concrete and steel content, analytical tools and enhancements for reinforced concrete documentation. Of particular note are the TrussWizard (available only to Subscription customers) and the one-click beam system creation feature.

Autodesk has lined up a number of promotions pertaining to these new releases:

• AutoCAD LT® Crossgrade Promotion – Customers with seats of ACAD LT 2004, 2005, or 2006 can purchase a new seat of AutoCAD® 2007 or select verticals (ADT, ABS, Revit Building, and Autodesk Revit Structure for BSD) at a special promotional price of US$1,995.
• Autodesk Revit Building and Engineering Implementation Voucher Promotions – Customers who purchase qualifying products receive a US$200 voucher for training or implementation services on those products.
• Rev It Up Autodesk® Architectural Desktop – Customers can receive special promotional pricing on new seats of Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007 and Autodesk Revit Building software.
• Autodesk 2007 Legacy Promotion – Customers can purchase a current version of Autodesk software and save 40% with subscription or 35% without subscription.
• Autodesk 2004 Retirement Program – Customers can purchase a current version of Autodesk software and save 15% with subscription or 10% without subscription.
• Invest in Education – Commercial companies that purchase qualifying Autodesk software can grant a 25-seat classroom lab of the same product to the educational institution of their choice.

Autodesk Revit Systems Update
In a continuing effort to provide products of the highest quality, Autodesk has released an updated version of Autodesk® Revit® Systems software that provides file format compatibility between Autodesk Revit Systems and new releases of the Autodesk® Revit® Building 9.1 and Autodesk® Revit® Structure 4 products.

This update is necessary only for Autodesk Revit Systems users who need to open, link, or work with models saved in the upcoming Autodesk Revit Building 9.1 and/or Autodesk Revit Structure 4 products. If users are working on a project in which the design team (architects or structural engineers) has not upgraded to Autodesk Revit Building 9.1 or Autodesk Revit Structure 4 software for use on the project, we recommend the continued use of your existing Autodesk Revit Systems software.

On August 28, customers with Autodesk® AutoCAD® Revit® Series—Systems Plus (ARS—Systems Plus) on Autodesk® Subscription will be shipped new media and a letter explaining when it should be used. Customers with subscription may also access product information and download options via the Subscription Center.

This file format-compatible release will also be available by download to all current non-subscription owners of ARS—Systems Plus. Visit www.autodesk.com.
