New Class From Ideate – Revit Architecture Families
This fast-paced one-day class is designed for advanced Revit students who are interested in creating parametric Revit content. Students will learn methods for testing and creating both the graphical and data elements of Revit families through the study of two different family types: a bench and a door. Class discussion will include Shared Parameters, Family Nesting, and tips for standardizing custom Revit content.

Prerequisites: A minimum of one year of either Revit Architecture, Revit MEP or Revit Structure experience required; 3D modeling experience recommended.

USG Design Studio – a New Online Technology that Embraces the Future
The practice of Architecture and the role of the architect are changing—with the help of Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM revolutionizes the way buildings are designed and constructed. Parametric design, the essence of BIM, allows swift, global changes and evaluations early in the design process. Now USG presents Design Studio, a new technology platform developed for architects, designers, and specifiers that complements BIM.

In addition to filling the current product-specific information gap of BIM, this new platform combines design support for both walls and ceilings—accessible in an elegant, online format.  Intuitive logic guides the user through a performance-based program that yields accurate, integrated building assembly solutions, whether designing in CAD or Revit®.

Design Studio contains CAD detail libraries, specification generators, and 3-dimensional animations that clarify complex construction installations. Also available are learning modules that provide support information for multiple interest areas.

USG Design Studio allows the user to work within the BIM environment. All solutions can be downloaded in a Revit format, and expanded Revit libraries of walls and ceilings are included—even fire-resistive rated wall systems and the complete line of USG ceiling systems.
