AutoCAD Map 3D 2009 Webcast – Valuable for Architects and Planners too!

Architects and planners, unsurprisingly, were among the earliest users of geographic information systems (GIS) as it allows them to research, develop, implement, and monitor the progress of their plans by giving them access to a wealth of existing data. GIS also enables architects and planners to quantify their proposals, thereby increasing client satisfaction and furthering their professional reputation.  Join us on June 27th for a webcast on AutoCAD Map 3D 2009 to get an introduction to this useful tool.

NEW! - Mathcad Webcast with Ideate, Inc. - June 19
Join us online June 19th 11:30am - 1pm PT for a free webcast.

TOPIC: Why is Mathcad important to the AEC industry, you and your company?

Organizations within the AEC industry face the constant challenge of delivering projects on time and within budget. In order to meet these objectives, they must create and protect intellectual property, implement standards, ensure compliance, establish a common calculation communication platform and limit risk liability.

One of the greatest challenges in addressing these issues is to identify and promote a tool that provides a common, intuitive platform designed to create and capture engineering calculation data during the design process. In addressing this challenge, organizations must keep in mind the following considerations:

  • Data input and design parameters should be controlled and entered in consistent formats
  • Impact of design changes and iterations should be efficiently analyzed
  • Design errors should be avoided
  • Design data (calculations) should be reusable, shareable, and publishable

Come attend and see how Mathcad, the global standard for engineering calculations, addresses these items, and understand why CH2MHILL made the choice to standardize on Mathcad for a project to replace and repair 21 bridges in a state design-build program that resulted in:

  • No freeway closures
  • Both projects being completed 13 months and 4 months earlier than projected

Ease-of-use combined with a robust units-aware math engine have made Mathcad an award winning application and standard tool within many leading AEC firms worldwide. A natural ability to capture the knowledge and workflow behind engineering design decisions, reduce math related errors during the design process, and treat calculations as a corporate asset make Mathcad a critical tool for every AEC organization.
