Ideate's Green BIM Basics Class Now Qualified for HSW Credits
Did you know our Green BIM Basics class meets Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) requirements? AIA members as well as other licensed architects have mandatory continued education requirement for re-licensing and part of their CEU’s must be HSW related. You can attend our Green BIM Basics training in San Francisco March 30 or in Sacramento May 5th and earn 7 HSW units.
This course provides an introduction to the use of BIM tools for creating sustainable and ultimately carbon neutral designs. The focus of the class will be on creating quick models for energy and lighting analysis utilizing Revit, Green Building Studio, and 3ds Max Design. The file installs the Revit Extensions for Revit Structure 2009 software. It also includes the Extensions Engine, a platform that hosts each extension within Revit Structure 2009. Please note that the multi-language executable file contains content in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. Revit Extensions for Revit Structure 2009 are compatible with the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Revit Structure 2009 software (with the exception of Analysis Integration Enabler for Autodesk Concrete Building Structures 2009 and Reinforcement Drawings Enabler).
Residential HVAC Load Calculation Extension for Revit® MEP 2009 and AutoCAD® MEP 2009
The Residential Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Load Calculation Extension for Revit® MEP 2009 software and AutoCAD® MEP 2009 software is a residential and light commercial HVAC load calculation software tool that determines peak cooling and heating loads for buildings. By downloading this extension, MEP professionals will be able to properly size building mechanical systems for residential and light commercial projects. Architects, home owners, and home builders can also benefit from the software tool on their projects. The extension can be used alone or in conjunction with other Autodesk® technology. The extension is able to integrate with these tools by importing and exporting gbXML. Content is currently available in English only.

New functionality and updates include:
e-SPECS Editor
- e-SPECS template project sections now include additional custom paragraphs and notes to specifiers
- Checklist modifications can be made after saving edited sections helping reduce time in making changes later in the design process
e-SPECS Designer
- Importing Sections from DOC and RTF files includes AutoTagging of Products, Submittals and Quality Assurances for immediate use via the e-SPECS Checklist and binding to CAD and BIM models
- New "Master Track Changes" can be made in e-SPECS Designer helping a firm to produce more consistency in high quality construction specifications via propagating their lessons learned and product and other preferences through to the writer of each project manual
- Tagging and Display Refresh Performance Improvements
e-SPECS On-Line
- e-SPECS is now available to be used remotely via the hosted e-SPECS On-Line solutions reducing the need for software purchase, installation and maintenance, with secure access via just an internet browser
