The District of North Vancouver designs faster and creates more sophisticated presentations with Civil 3D
Located across the picturesque Burrard Inlet from Vancouver, British Columbia, the District of North Vancouver (DNV) is home to more than 80,000 people. The DNV is about 60 percent parkland and green space, making it a popular destination for hikers and bikers in summer and skiers in winter. The area’s steep terrain, though scenic, can make designing infrastructure projects challenging and potentially time-consuming. And with hundreds of kilometers of trails, roads, and utilities infrastructure to maintain, the DNV’s small staff of two designers must work efficiently.

Subscription Customers. Autodesk University classes now available online
As an added benefit of Autodesk® Subscription, AU Online is now available to all subscription customers via Subscription Center. AU Online is a new initiative in which 100 classes from Autodesk University 2005 were recorded and posted to a central site to help customers continue their education throughout the year. AU Online is being made available to AU 2005 attendees and to all subscription customers around the world.
The AU Online site allows subscription customers to:

  • Access and download class handouts for most of this year's 400 AU sessions
  • View recordings of 100 classes

After logging in to the subscription center, you can go to AU Online by picking the "AU Online" link in the upper-right hand corner.

Is California Next for a Levee Disaster?
An extensive but decaying system of levees protects key urban areas in California’s Central Valley and keeps drinking water safe for 20 million people who rely on the watershed formed by the delta of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. But some experts wonder if the levees are leaving these regions vulnerable to a disaster far greater than the one inflicted on New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina.
