Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 and Autodesk MapGuide 6.5 Server
There is a conflict with the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 and Autodesk MapGuide 6.5 Server. When this service pack is applied, Autodesk MapGuide 6.5 Server stops working.

Even though Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is not a currently supported platform for this version of Autodesk MapGuide Server, our development team is working with Microsoft to resolve the issue.

Microsoft Windows Vista Support for Autodesk Map 3D 2007
Autodesk Map 3D 2007 has not been tested on Windows Vista. So it is currently not supported on the Windows Vista platform. However, Autodesk has been working with Microsoft to ensure that AutoCAD Map 3D 2008 is compatible with Windows Vista.

eWasOpenforWrite Errors in Autodesk Map 3D 2007

Issue:
In Map 3D 2007, you received eWasOpenforWrite errors when switching between Layouts and Model Space.

Solution:
The eWasOpenforWrite message usually occurs when the API does not handle objects in the drawing properly.

If you have installed a third-party application recently, such as the ESRI plugin for AutoCAD, the issue could be related to a conflict between this application and Autodesk Map 3D.

To correct this issue, uninstall the third-party application.

Slow Performance When Working With ArcSDE Data

Issue
When you connect to an ArcSDE server, it takes longer to display the data than in previous versions of Autodesk Map 3D.

Solution
To improve performance when working with ArcSDE data, you can limit the number of connections between Autodesk Map 3D and the ArcSDE server. Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start menu (Windows) > Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, enter regedit.
  3. In the Windows Registry Editor, browse to the following location:
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCad\R17.0\ACAD-5002:409\Applications\AcMapFeatureSourceManager\ShareConnections
  1. Double-click the ShareConnections subkey and set its data value to 1.

This limits the number of connections opened between Autodesk Map 3D and ArcSDE by FDO to one. The default value of 0 allows multiple connections to be opened.
