The City and County of San Francisco Autodesk User’s Group kickoff meeting will be held November 5, 2007, from 11:45am to 1:15pm in the Bureau of Engineering conference room. This initial meeting will include an overview of the various projects going on within the City and County and the design technology being used. Anyone from the Public or Private sector, involved in: architectural, mechanical/electrical/plumbing, structural engineering, civil engineering, surveying, GIS or asset/facilities management projects within the City and County of San Francisco are welcome to attend.

Converting LDD Figure Prefix Library to Civil 3D Figure Styles

Issue:
You want to know how to migrate (import) the Figure Prefix Library to Civil 3D figure styles.

Solution:
There is no direct way of importing (migrating) the LDD Prefix Library to Civil 3D. This procedure must be done manually by following these steps:

1. In Civil 3D 2008, create a new DWG using a DWT that contains your standards.
2. In the Toolspace window, click the Survey tab.
3. On the Survey tab, click Open Survey Toolspace.
4. In the Survey Toolspace, right-click Figure Prefix Databases. On the shortcut menu, click New.
5. Name the Figure Prefix Database, and then right-click. On the shortcut menu, click New.
6. Name the Figure Prefix, "Topname".
7. Under the Breakline option, select Yes.
8. Enter the name of the layer where you want the Top of Slope Figures to be created. Repeat this process until all of the figure prefixes have been created.
9. On the File menu, click Save As.

Save in DWT file format (template).
