What is Revit Live?
Revit Live is a subscription service that is rapidly evolving to provide a quick and easy way to create architectural models in an interactive virtual environment. Revit Live Editor lets you compose the content, creating/deleting viewpoints, and lets you interact with the content and publish to Windows or an iPad (Beta). Anyone with the free Revit Live viewer can then explore your model.
Two Known Issues
There are two questions that this short blog addresses:
1. Why can’t I edit my existing published model? (*.lvmd files)
2. Why can I no longer publish my models to Windows? (*.LIVE files)
Many people experimented with the 90-day trial product, then purchased subscription for first and subsequent releases. The published models are release-dependent, so earlier models are not compatible with the later releases for editing in the Live Editor. The models need to be republished using the current version of Revit Live. Keep your Revit model as the content source, not the Live Model, which is not upwardly compatible.
